This Claret uses a label that pays tribute to the first Bordeaux-style Cabernet Sauvignon, made by Gustave Niebaum in 1910. Claret is the name that the English gave red wines from Bordeaux centuries ago, and which they still use today - after all, they remain English. Merlot and Cabernet Franc, also typical Bordeaux grapes, account for 3% each. The most important grape next to the Cabernet (79%) is the Petit Verdot, with 15%. Claret is a wine based on Cabernet Sauvignon, mixed with other grapes into a wine in a typical Bordeaux style. Together with the white Pavilion, this is the flagship of the Diamond Collection.
